Worth visiting!
a place i call home
I grew up in this not-so-little town. It’s grown too fast and definitely not the same town when I left, which is just under 6 yrs ago. It’s great when you’re younger but once you hit teenagedom it becomes a big bore, unless you have a car and then you can cruise around town (oh the memories!).

Home
I grew up here. There isn’t much to do, albeit for the movie theatre and the mall, but the people are great and the music scene is, too.

I grew up in Newmarket
At the time, it was still relatively small – at the edge of the megacity formerly known as Toronto. I really enjoyed growing up there, and I spent a lot of my youth biking around and enjoying the surrounding fields, woods and streams.
It’s now a giant mall/parking lot amalgam… so many open spaces that I recall are now rows of houses or sprawing malls.
I went to visit a couple friends that still live there, and there was no real place to sit and have a coffee… the downtown is a mere shell.
The entire city has been successfully WalMart-ized.
