A tip I have about this place  — 6 months ago

Worth visiting!

Take a lot of water! This applies to any desert camping, really. They say one gallon per person per day. I think we took 6 liters per person (about a gallon and a half each) plus another liter for cooking. We backpacked up to the campsite that’s about a mile from Guadalupe Peak, camped overnight, went gear-less (except cameras, water, and food) to the peak the next morning, then came back down, broke camp, and descended. We just barely made it with that amount of water. This was in early fall, so it wasn’t too hot. But it was very dry.

Worth visiting!

A great National Park. Wonderful vistas and mountain desert ecology. Some of the best fall leaves in the country.
