Tank Hill

...at the top of Tank Hill on an amazingly clear September day. It was such a special moment, with the entire city in sight and the hill to ourselves. When I called my parents to tell them the news, my mom said, “That’s where I would have done it too.”

...but very worthwhile for a quiet commanding view of the GG bridge, Marin Headlands, Golden Gate Park and Pacific ocean.

You feel closer to the city than you do @ Twin Peaks because the hill is lower. Since it’s a small hill, you can see in almost all directions. I wouldn’t have known about this place if I didn’t leave nearby.

In my opinion Tank Hill is the best city view spot in SF! Take Stanyan St ‘till it dead ends and you turn left, take that all the way to the end of the street. Park and walk up the dirt path and you crest the hill and see the amazing city that is San Francisco. Go at night and see the sparkle! Bring a jacket it can get kinda cold at night..
