If you want to immerse yourself in “Real India” you can stay in the major cities (and might as well visit the West for all the difference you’ll see), visit the farms (you may have bitten off more than you can chew, as it were), or you can visit a small village of state capitol.
Visit the Real India, if you are going to make the trip anyway.
