great place to live, could be better  — 6 months ago

Worth visiting!

With the greatest variety of plant and animal life, as well as human culture in the solar system, Earth is the only planet in the Milky Way that holds the greatest abundance of life and culture to be found for many light-years, and I hope beings all over will have a chance to visit at some point in their lives.
Alas, this is not an unspoiled planet, for the last 200-years human-beings, one of it’s most populous of species have used the resources of the earth to create wealth for themselves at the expense of others, and today the air, water and soil are at their most polluted and impure. Do not be alarmed though, a small but ever growing number of humans are trying to reverse this, through whatever action they can, and maybe, just maybe they’ll succeed and the future of this lovely planet will be assured for all time.

Whenever life gets you down mrs. Brown..  — 7 months ago

Just remember that you’re standing on a planet that’s evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That’s orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it’s reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the ‘Milky Way’.
Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It’s a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it’s just three thousand light years wide.
We’re thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go ‘round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that’s the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you’re feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere up in space,
‘Cause there’s bugger all down here on Earth.

The only planet I have been on  — 1 year ago

Worth visiting!

I was born on this planet. As were everyone I have ever known and cared about. I care about it deeply. I am keen on keeping my lifetime’s ecological footprint low and I encourage others to do the same. I hope people don’t ruin this planet any more than they already have.

I haven’t managed to visit any other planets yet although I have imagined being on countless planets and solar systems, galaxies and even universes.

Here is an illustration of our place in the scale of things:
The Planet Earth, The Solar System, The Milkyway Galaxy, The Universe, The Omniverse.

By the way, as you read this, you are travelling at 19,000 miles / 30,400 kilometres per second. That’s the cruising speed of the Earth through space. Bon voyage!

I’m one of those annoying people who makes a short stopover, and tells everyone I’ve been there.

well the good thing about this place is that it has tunds of everything. You can choose your grocerie’s, gym, etc between tunds of options!
but I shall tell you that I’d rather live in one of the many jungles instead of going to a green grocer’s!

Worth visiting!

So now that we’re here, does anybody know where we get our groceries? As an Earth Expat I’d like to get sorted out where we’ll do our shopping, go to the gym, etc. etc. here on The Earth!
