Bouldin Creek Coffeehouse

Bouldin is one of my favorite places in austin. They have great food (with lots of vegan options) and good coffee at moderate prices. You should totally sit in the “jail”.

“Must Haves” at Bouldin:
blueberry cornbread
ginger miso dressing
hummus tacos
vegan chocolate chip cookies

Their veg food is tasty, and they ain’t afraid to serve greens with breakfest.

It wasn’t just the eclectic neon signage, the disaffected baristas or the transvestite cowboy in snared tights with a patent leather boombox handbag. Those are all notable details, but the cowboy had a bluetooth headset and was chatting to someone—I assume a fellow wrangler in heels. This pretty much summed up my visit to Austin. I wish I knew how to quit Austin. But I don’t. Keep Austin weird, I say.
