The Grand Hotel

When I was a teenager we used to stay here every year for a week. It was a long drive in the car, there are no televisions in the room, no cars, no video games etc. There are lots of adults, some with grey hair… at the time it seemed like torture. Torture with great food, but torture.

As a 35 year old, no cars, no tvs & no radios sounds like a dream.

The food is extraordinary. I’m a foodie, I’m married to a chef and I can honestly say this place has some of the best food I’ve had in my lifetime. It also has the world’s longest porch!

Beautiful, better to tour than to pay and stay though…

What a wonderful place. I have stayed at the Grand twice and hope next year to go to the anual Grand Mystery weekend they have every October before they shut down. If your looking for a place to just sit and enjoy the view and the quiet there is no better place then the Grand and Mackinaw Island.

I would love to go to the U.P. and stay at the Grand Hotel. It was so gorgeous in “Somewhere In Time”. Whenever I watch that movie it makes me want to pack my bags and start driving!

worth visiting. you feel like royalty when you stay here and the view of the lake is fantastic
