Le Tub

This is without a doubt the most laid back pub / restaurant I’ve been to in South Florida. The decor is totally crazy wierd, but it works. Well… sorta works. If I got the story right, the owner constructed the building out of bits and pieces of stuff he’s pulled out of the ocean. And it’s quite scary what’s out there…

There are toilet and tub planters and chairs, ropes and buoys hanging from the roof, and car tags, and various other bits and pieces all over the walls, which are built from rough pieces of wood. As are the tables. The classic rock is loud, but just soft enough for you to be able to hear your waiter. Dress code is shorts and flips flops – and it seemed to be t-shirt optional (for the guys)

Joel and I had great burgers and fries that we waited a long time for. We were warned by the guy who showed us where we could park that it takes an hour for your order to hit the table, but we didn’t care – the atmosphere was amazing. We wandered in, grabbed a drink and played some pool while we waited for a table, then chatted to one of the locals outside, and watched the boats go by while we waited. It’s the type of place you could just chill out at all afternoon – and we did.
