Ski Dubai

Saw it. Considered it. Didn’t do it.

After snowboarding in the powder in Hokkaido, I couldn’t bring myself to go in… it looked pretty hard and wasn’t really worth the novelty.

However if I had kids or I lived there, definitely worth a try.

you must see that place.. outside is +50 C inside is -2 C

Ski Dubai is an indoor skiing slope in the Mall of the Emirates. Yeah, maybe your mall has an ice rink, but it just can’t hold a candle to this thing. The food court surrounds the bottom of the slope. Staff was friendly and helpful in getting me set up with good equipment. 120 dirhams (something like $30) for two hours on the slope.
Ran into a bunch of kids from the USS Stennis on shore leave there, snowboarding. Stay safe out there in the Gulf, guys.

Very cold, after an hour I felt and looked like Scott of the Antartic.

Beware though, because thermal hats, gloves and socks are not included in the entrance fee.

To purchase them in the on-site shop is expensive because you have no alternative place to purchase.

it sucks. if uve seen real snow, ur not gonna have fun.
