It was in 1963. I was in the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Cubi Point. My off-duty hours were spent in either downtown Olongapo or on the beach of Grande Island in the bay. A lot of memories were made with the assistance of Viejos Rum and San Miguel beer. Is the Club Oro still at the main intersection?

I love Olongapo City! It’s dirty, it’s crowded, it’s fun! Although it isn’t that big, there’s a lot to do. Fun people, fun food, fun clubs, fun stores, fun culture. It rocks.

I was raised in this city, finished my studies in manila though… my grandparents are from bataan and they moved to olongapo for business. I must go back!
