Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

…you’ve seen it all, you’ve done it all, you just can’t remember it all ;o)

and I was there in 1988

Make sure to check out everything, because it is all great! It’s not all about the koalas – feed the roos, watch the sheepdogs, hold an eagle…and cuddle a koala of course.

I must have been about 6 and amazingly, I’ve been back several times & each visit gets better! Every overseas visitor who’s come to stay with me in Brisbane (my home town) has been treated to a day out at Lone Pine.

The best way to get there is by boat from the City, along the Brisbane River which meanders past some of the most beautiful houses, parks & gardens, on past the Queensland University grounds, downstream past the colony of fruit bats & onto Lone Pine. It truly is a great day out!

It’s probably my favourite place in Brisbane. I still dream about it, it’s so beautiful.
