The Hostel In The Forest

i met the most beautiful people there. we all got trapped at the hostel for different reasons (broken down cars, missed grey hounds etc.) but everything falls into place there. i wanted to keep delaying my return to the outside world but the regulars insisted “you have to leave so you can come back”

The Hostel is more than just a place to stay. There’s something magic in that forest that brings out the best in people. The Hostel changed my life forever. I lived there on staff for a few months, and to this day its the only place I have ever truly felt at home and at peace. I have never been as happy I have been just hanging out at the hostel and having deep conversation with someone I only just met.
It’s my favorite place in the whole world.

i loved this place…everthing was all laid back and u feel insolated from the world. it is very hippiish but thats not a bad thing. its pretty much non profit and they just work with what they have to make a place to stay in the woods. everyone was really nice to me when i was there

It’s a pretty offbeat crowd of hippies, which is funny, considering the surrounding area is a truck stop, so, be prepared. You have to really look for the place. When we were there, there was a faded sign that just said “hostel” on the side of the road propped up against a tree.

I know many would be angry because there are only so few places to plug in a laptop and the showers are cold and outside. The treehouses are really nifty, though, and there’s a lot of forest to get lost in. Yoga, organic gardening, bonfires, drum circles, you name it….

Oh, but the treehouse rooms are screened in, so don’t go when it’s cold, or grab extra blankets. I was freezing.

Good place to make friends.
