Monkey Island

It’s actually my flickr Photo that someone used for the header of Monkey Island :-)

It does exist, it’s a small island off Hainan Island in China accessible only by ferry and cable car. The monkeys run wild(-ish) and will steal your food. There are little shows with monkeys for tourists.

It’s a leisurely walk around the park and a guide dressed up in traditional costume costs next to nothing. The guides don’t speak English, but are fluent in Mandarin and Hainanese. Some guides speak Cantonese too.

be aware of three-headed monkeys and vegetarian cannibals!
