Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum

I had my high school prom on the Midway in the hold of the ship. For about half the night you could go up on the deck and just hang out. They left all the aircraft in the hold and it was just amazing. Even if your not dancing in the hold it is still a great place to go for anyone. The Midway was one of the pride ships of our fleet and I think you would enjoy it if your in the area. Plus you get to see what it was like for those friends or family who served in the Navy. Don’t forget to check out the other ships nearby like the Star of India!!

I picked this activity for my husband and I because I thought he would like to tour an aircraft carrier. It was definitely neat to climb through an actual aircraft carrier, as opposed to just seeing pictures. My favorite part was the kitchen (my dad was a cook in the Navy, so I felt like maybe he worked in an environment like that). My least favorite part was losing my glasses on the flight deck. :( It set our vacation back by many hours, and since I only had prescription sunglasses, we had to leave the carrier before fully exploring it. We had seen most of it, though, and I would definitely suggest going.
