A necessary stop off to much better places by cranberrygoddess
Hervey bay is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. It is the place you leave from to get to Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island and a world heritage area. You can go on whale watching tours at the right time of year, and it’s near the sunshine coast and not far from Brisbane.
But the town itself is basically just a small country town. A friend of mine has family there and hates being stuck in the place, it is surrounded by beautiful beaches but it’s own beaches could hardly be called beaches, and I had the worst chinese meal I’ve ever had there.
