Worth visiting!
30 years of great pizza...
My dad did some work for the guys who opened Star Pizza in 1976, when they were first opening.
They moved here from Chicago, where the vast majority of pizza places deilvered, and were shocked to find that Houston pizza places didn’t. (I’m assuming this was before the advent of chains like Dominos and Pizza Hut. I wasn’t exactly alive then, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.) Anyway, they decided to open their own restaurant. They were the first place in town to deliver.
You should visit if you want some authentic Chicago-style pizza. It’s amazing and messy and loaded with toppings.

Worth visiting!
My favorite pizza place of all time.
Of all the pizza I’ve had, Star Pizza is my favorite. I’ve eaten there many times, and the quality is consistent. They make the best margherita pizza I’ve ever had, and it is my favorite there. The second best is the Joe’s, which has spinach and garlic. Always go for the thick wheat crust – it’s the best. The atmosphere is relatively nice and the servers have never disappointed me. My sister had her rehearsal dinner here and they made some vegan pizzas for my brother in law’s friends. I went out of my way to take my friends here when they visited Houston.
