Camarillo

it was in 1992, when i was 6 years old… I still remember the first day of school…

I lived there in Camarillo, 93012, for two years. While there, I was homesick for Northern Virginia, and would spend time crying at night, looking over the mountains behind my cliff-ed back yard. Now, I dream about Camarillo often.

The weather is lovely (but if you love thunderstorms, you’ll be wistful). The fields nearby are the brightest green you can imagine. There are mountains nearby and ocean even closer. I think of the place and feel calm, and longing (which compete).

I want to go back, but I think I’ll be disappointed in how it has changed. I still dream about Camarillo. Thirteen years later.

(Has it really been so long?)

At least it was back when I lived here, and it looks pretty much the same now (only about twice as big). Not sure there’s much reason to come for a visit, though.

6 years, 12 year interlude, and now I’m back, yes for returning to the home!

I love Camarillo, I’ve lived here for two and a half years and don’t plan on leaving any time soon!
