South Coast Plaza

About a month ago, I went twice in the period of about a week. I was attempting to get the Apple Store there to fix my iPod.
Suffice to say, they were unable to do so.
I drove the extra distance because it was only at this mall that I was able to get an appointment with Apple’s “Genius” bar.
And, yes, I use the term “genius” rather loosely.

It’s worth going to in that you almost can’t believe it. There are malls and there are pretentious malls, and this is a VERY pretentious mall. But what’s to be expected with folks like Versace here?

Still, it’s useful for me as a place to walk through on a hot day to get to a Best Buy from the nearest bus stop. And sometimes that’s all that you need.

..just walking distance from my house for four years. I can’t possibly say it wasn’t very functional for me. Although they lacked a proper pretzel place! Every shopping mall needs a place you can get a butter soaked fattening pretzel.. and South Coast Plaza never had one! (Maybe they do now.)

I actually asked the info booth many years ago about the blatant lack of a decent pretzel joint in the plaza, and I was told that “McDonald’s has cornered the market for pretzels in South Coast Plaza” at the time. BOOOOOO! (But that’s alright. I forgive you, SCP.)
