Ft. Stevens

Endless activities to fill your days. The beach is beautiful (the shipwreck is very impressive), Coffenbury Lake is a great place for swimming and fishing, and you’re on the Columbia River as well. There is also Battery Russell (a concrete artillery battery built in 1904) which is very cool, and it’s just a short drive from Fort Clatsop which is another awesome tourist attraction in itself. The campground is beautiful, shaded, well maintained and provides play structures for children. There are countless hiking trails you just may see an Elk or two on, and the park offers mushroom tours in the fall. The only downsides are that you have to drive a couple of miles to reach the beach, lake and river, and the campsites are very close together. If you can deal with those minor details, this is really a must see place.

I’ve never been to the such clean and wide open beach before, this is the first time I ever experienced.

There are people playing kites, playing with dogs, even driving jeep along the beach, I wasn’t prepare for this beautiful place, I didn’t wear my swimming suit, didn’t bring the tools for sand-castle.
But still, I did have fun; walking the beach with bare feet, enjoy the breeze and the endless coastline.
