If you’re looking for a good education, and some name recognition (especially in the Northeast), you really can’t beat it. The education I received here is way better than the one I got as a grad student at a well know liberal arts school. A few pluses: Troy is cheap to live in and the local atmosphere is starting to pick up to. Unless you’re an immature guy who is going to complain about the ratio at a tech school (ratios at ALL tech schools are bad) and ignore the fact that there are also two all female schools within 15 minutes, then don’t come.

I graduated from here last year (‘05) MechE/CompSci dual major. It’s a good school, but you have to find a group of people who want to do things other than study 24/7. Fuck the 4.0, get out and have some fun! I wish more people at RPI felt this way, too. Join a fraternity if you want to do more than just get on the fast track to big money.

Had friends who went to college here. So I spent some time ‘up the hill’.

Don’t go here if you’re a guy looking for hot girls.
