Caldwell Zoo

I think admission prices are too high. I would have recommended this zoo back when it was free or even $6, but now it’s not worth the money. The flora is better than the fauna. And the lonely fox is just depressing. I wish they’d get him a friend or put him out of his misery. River otters are cute and the white tigers are gorgeous.

I worked at this Zoo for just under 3 years. It’s actually one of the best Zoo’s in the US and it just happens to be in a little East Texas town in the middle of no-where… If you like visiting various Zoo’s like I do – it’s definately one to see! They are working very hard to make it a place that makes an impact on visitors and things change daily. I miss my animals dearly. :)

Caldwell Zoo isn’t an extremely large zoo but it does house a variety of animals in very pleasing surroundings. If you do visit I’d recommend going during the spring especially if you enjoy photography. Not only are all the flowers in the zoo in bloom at that time but the trip there along the Texas Highways is very scenic with all the wildflowers in season.
