A review of this place: "Carmen" at Miller Outdoor Theater

The TUTS performance of Carmen was outstanding last fall. It was hilarious, musically excellent, and engaging. I have seen several different types of performances here and never been let down.

A tip I have about this place

Every year they have two operas, one or two shakspearean plays, and a few orchestral concerts.

Tickets for the covered seated section can be picked up (usually free of charge) earlier in the day or the day before (depending). Or if you’re keeping an eye on the weather, the hill makes for a great picnic blanket lounging view of the fun.

Free fun!

An open-air theatre with lots and lots of free art events. They put on a wide range of shows, from dance to Shakespeare to concerts. Always worth going!

If there isn’t a show going on, you must roll down the hill! It’s something every Houstonian should do.
