A review of this place
Nice place. Except for the globalization. Real beauty is found everywhere except Manali.. go around 8 / 10 / 20 kms away from Manali, and you’ll find beauty. I stayed at a placed 30 mins away from Manali – called Naggar. Vashisht is also worth visiting. So is old manali.

Spring in the Hindu Kush
I was there in May 1981 at the time of the spring festival when the statues of deities from surrounding villages were carried shoulder high on bearers to a clearing in the forest outside Manali town to visit the Goddess Hadimba at her temple.
Each village arrived in procession with almost the entire village dressed in traditional colourful Kulu Valley clothing.

There were some days and nights of prayer, singing, chanting, feasting and conversation between communities that in some cases had been cut off from each other for months by winter snows.

Marvellous!
Just take off to this place anytime of the year!!! Only be prepared for hardwork & a little adjusting. If heights and cold weather don’t bother you.. It’s a must see! And not to forget, Himachal Pradesh, the state Manali falls in, is one of the most popular stop for Adventure sport. However, do your research, get recommendations, etc. to make sure you don’t spend a fortune.
Have fun!!!
