I did the day tour into the sacred valley (but not the Inca trail). We saw the ruins at Ollyantaytambo, I think it was Chinchilla that had the markets at a church that was built on top of a demonlised inca temple by the conquistadors and well…I can’t remember all the other goofy sounding bolivian names but I love them :P

It is a really beautiful, peacefull valley!  — 2 years ago

The whole day trip was wonderful, the people, the scenery, the ruins, the little animals and the shepperds, even the few vendors trying to sell their wares there were really nice. I will go back. The food was really good too.

We were only able to spend an afternoon here, but it was a wonderfully peaceful and interesting time. Our guide was knowledgeable and gracious. Take special note of the ceremonial use of water throughout.

The Sacred Valley is between Cuzco and Machu Picchu. It is spectacular! Great weather, beautiful views, ancient history, big rivers and trails. If I’m not wrong, you can start the Inca Trail from here.

I would like to go there, only with my backpack and lots of energy to walk and walk and walk. And watch and watch and watch.
