Nokogiriyama is the home of the largest Daibutsu in Japan. The whole place is a nice hike, and there’s a few great sights to see… the Hyakuskahu Kannon is an amazing 33m carving in the mountain of the Goddest of Mercy. The Sengohyaku Rakan Mich is a row of more that 1500 statues of buddah… although most of them have their heads knocked off from an anti-buddhist movement in the meiji era.

…Take the JR Sotobo line from Soga or Chiba station to Hota (main entrance but all uphill) or Hamakanaya (back entrance but has a ropeway and goes mainly downhill).
