Khan El-Kalil

Khan El Khalili is, of course, a huge market geared to tourists where there is loads of crap for purchase. BUT there are some lovely things to buy as well. Bargain hard!

If you are going to Aswan, the market there is good and there are some really great little shops that can be found that sell lovely antique items.

My husband dragged me through Khan El-Kalili looking for the famous coffee shops there. We did find them them and sat there for quite a while. We had a nice time talking to the people around us while drinking coffee, smoking shisha and having henna done. It was such a fun place to just sit and relax. The shopping was amazing. There was so much too see. I don’t think people should visit Cairo without stopping by Khan El-Khalili.
