Mackinac Bridge

I walked it for the first time yesterday!

On two succesive Labor Days, in 1982 and 1983, I did a bike ride from Lansing to here. I did it with my father both years.
We got to ride our bikes across the bridge.

For 40 years, the world’s longest single-span suspension bridge. Every Labor day, you can walk the 5 mile length over an unknown depth of fast-mnoving water in one of the most treacherous passages in fresh water. A magnificent view!
