Very Neat
We went on a weekday and it was very pleasant. Unique shows and lots of nature. It has a lot of history. I enjoyed this state park.

The last time I went to this place
Was in 1995…The gardens were gorgeous, tropical and birds of prey show was very memorable (my pictures came out stunning) the “singing mermaid show” was, well campy, but the kids loved it. All in all, very enjoyable and not too crowded either. Of course, this was 13 years ago….

The first time I went to this place
I went to visit my husband’s parents this past weekend, and they took me to Weeki Wachee for my birthday. It was such a wonderful present. I looooooooooove mermaids and this place could not have been more fun. It has a 50s, a little run-down, kitchy feel that you can’t beat. I loved it.

Lived near here as a teen
My aunt Jane ran the restaurant at the attraction when I was a teenager, and my gram lived downstream. It is a magical place in many ways… or was… not sure… that was 20 plus years ago. Taking the river on a small row boat is the best way to visit. So much wildlife, especially birds and prehistoric looking fish, gators… baby gators that hiss at you when you coo about how cute they are… There was also a bald Eagle’s nest on the WW river, and I have heard that the eagles are still nesting there. I am going this summer (for my cousin’s wedding), but the best time to go is between January and late March.
