National Botanical Gardens

This little trip was a late birthday present from my boyfriend, and actually, I’m glad it was late. We went in April, and all the magnolia trees were blossoming. There are about 40 different species in the park. And the magnolias are the best part. The greenhouses aren’t really special (although they are renovating, might improve), the castle wasn’t open to the public, and the cafeteria wasn’t great either. But the park itself is really beautiful in spring, with the wild geese, the blossoming magnolias and anemones covering the woodlands.
Conclusion: very nice (and cheap) park, but go in April to see something special.

It’s not that far from where I live, but I haven’t found the time to go there yet. Once it starts getting warmer, I will take a look.
