From the solitude, deep snow and cold river fords of an Upper Peninsula winter to the invigorating encounters with other seekers of fall colors the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is a place to find the solace of the backcountry in the Midwestern United States. over 4 years agoPicture Perfect by andreaandreaI went on a short backpacking trip here last year. It rained for about an hour in the evening and stopped just as the sun was setting. The view over Lake of the Clouds was absolutely breathtaking. The mist over the water and the way the sun’s beams hit the vapor where perfect. I didn’t take a picture becasue there was no way it would have done the view any justice. It takes awhile to get there, but it’s worth it. over 5 years agoSee all 9 entries |
