Ullapool

I was travelling from Torridon. it was fabulous scenery all the way to the point that a friend said, ‘Why can’t they stick in a factory here and there to keep us appreciating properly.

I was almost spellbound by Ullapool and decided I would return. I have been meny times since, as a lecturer with students and with my family. It has never lost its magic for me!

Ullapool has an annual guitar festival – I’ve been a few times and loved it. I would recommend you visit this gorgeous little town, it lies on the gulf stream and is surprisingly warm, just like the locals. You can walk for miles, with beautiful scenery all around. It’s the only place I’ve ever run out of road while driving!
