There’s no place in Portland that I would rather live and I am fortunate enough to live here. :) Everything you could need is within walking distance and people are fantastic.

so… the rash of chalk notes (along with the bike silhouette on the driveway on 15th) have me remembering when i used to carry sidewalk chalk and trace shadows.
we thought at one point that we could play a game with chalk, a bunch of people, and corners on the city grid. not a someone-wins type game, but patternmaking. never got very detailed, though, in envisioning it.

Ack! my neighborhood is really King. “Alberta Arts District” is so… so… trendy realtor-marketing-speak. I hear there’s a Mississippi Arts District now too. Pretty soon there’ll be a Williams/Vancouver Arts District… and this extrapolation could go on to either silly conclusions or dismal ones.
But i love where i live, i do. I’m not sure what i’ll do when the developers force the clown house out, but they’re a canary for me.

A few times a year, during the warmer months, Last Thursday turns into one of the best outdoor parties I’ve been to.
