If there is a heaven, they will serve Tong's egg rolls! by fairmanh

I lived in Villa Park for three years, and ate at Tong’s weekly (more often, if I had company). After moving to Southwest Michigan, we longed for the Tong.

It was only two hours away, so we’d go back just for the Crab Rangoons and Egg Rolls!

I asked once, “How do you make the Chicken Lo Mein?” They told me, gave me the recipie, and packed me some frozen egg rolls to go!

I love Tong’s!

Tiki time! by mysteria

Tong’s Tiki Hut is a place my parents used to take my sister and me when we were kids. So it’s kind of a nostalgic memory I have of weird family dinners in a tiki hut. I suppose this is why I now gravitate towards odd diners with crazy decor. The food is your average Illinois chinese fare, but the drinks come in Buddha-shaped glasses, coconuts, etc. with little parasols – totally tiki. I dunno what inspired this tiki craze, and I’m not sure why this restaurant survives in its strip mall location, but rock on!
