Worth visiting!

beautiful memories

Landsberg is a town in the southwest of Bavaria, Germany, about 50 kilometers west of Munich and 35 kilometers south of Augsburg. It is located on the river Lech not far from the reservoir that feeds it.
The town is noted for its prison where Adolf Hitler was incarcerated in 1924. I’m told it was also one of the largest Displaced Person camps for Jewish refugees after World War II.
I visited it in 1996 for the first time with a beautiful German girl named Tini, and it was a very cold and snowy January. We hiked up to the reservoir through the trees and it really was beautiful.
I went back on two other occasions while I was there, both times alone, but had wonderful times there both times. There is a beautiful cathedral there which I spent over an hour in, and also walked around the old wall of the original medieval township of Landsberg.
My memories of this place are grand, and I would love to get back there one day…
