    Worth visiting!

It’s hot and humid, I finally got a chance to go. Would recommend it to anyone for an interesting afternoon out.

Go while you can  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

This turned out to be an enchanting place: my pictures are here. The butterflies are both abundant and beautiful.

Unfortunately, its future is under severe threat after a baffling and somewhat suspicious decision by the Secretary of State to review its planning application for a new site at Gunnersbury Park.

Despite enormous local support, the financial implications of this new review are too large for the owners to sustain, and they’re now looking for a new site that they can move to before October 31.

Otherwise they’ll become the latest of the UK’s charming small attractions to be squeezed out of existence by the increasingly myopic planning process; one that has no problem with yet another bloody Tesco but can’t accomodate a butterfly house. Go and support it if you can.
