Southern Illinois

Mid August my father and I visited Sparta for the Grand American Trap Shoot. I’m a member of the Scholastic Clay Target Program, and I qualified to shoot for a placing. My squad, consisting of five guys, shot at a total of 1000 clay targets. We hit a total of 856 targets, altogether from both days of shooting. I hit 166 of those targets.

I live here in Southern Illinois. I love this place and would not live anywhere else, unless the good Lord told me to move. Southern Illinois is gorgeous and has lot’s of rich history, beautiful places to camp, fish, hike, whatever.

Not only did I graduate from the University here but also call Southern Illinois home! Southern Illinois offers the best outdoor recreation in Illinois so if you haven’t been here yet you are missing lots. We have many wineries since the climate and terrain mimic that of the best wine areas in the world. From festivals to hiking, fishing, boating, camping, site seeing or culture, SIUC and Southern Illinois are worth the look. Let me know your coming and I will be happy to play tour guide!
