Watch out for the Caribinieri by FlyGirl
We have a propensity for sticking our feet in fountains in Roma. OK, that’s not a good habit; we started doing it in the Piazza Navonne where it seems the fountains are used for almost everything — kiddie pools, dog baths, homeless baths, etc. The lovely thing about the fountains in Roma is that they are spring-fed, so it can be incredibly refreshing to cool your feet in them on a blistering summer day. For the most part the police don’t seem to mind; we have had them drive past us, smile, and drive on during our foot-bathing episodes.
Except in the Piazza di Spagna. For some reason, they greatly frown on soaking your feet in this piazza.
