Glastonbury Abbey

This is one of my most favorite places on earth.

Great for all fans of History/Architecture reguardless of religion! The ruins are beautiful and the grounds are well-kept, allowing picnickers. There is also a little cafe outside which does a great cream tea (for 2) for under a fiver!

We chatted to a man in costume/character at the Abbey, who was a great laugh and very informative, and who proceeded to demonstrate one of his really engaging and enthusiastic talks to children (as the bf and I play characters where we work – a Celtic Camp).

The displays inside the entrance building were also very informative and showed many original features/furnishings of the abbey.

Glastonbury Abbey is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places I’ve ever visited. I highly recommend spending an afternoon there.
