Bushkill Falls

This place is worth visiting. The park and falls are beautiful, the trails are nice, and the people are good. Entrance is a little expensive, so it’s up to you how to best make use of your time there.

A cute little day-use park, perfect for families and couples looking to get away from a major metropolitan city and walk along a maze of wooden staircases and pathways in a beautiful forested area. Not a “hike” by any means, but worth going to if you’re close by or are not an avid hiker.

My husband and I went to Bushkill falls for the first time last weekend. The falls were beautiful, thanks to all the rain lately. But this is definately a few hour deal and that’s about it. Very touristy, and a little pricey at $9 per person. However, it is well maintained (and looks like they put your money to good use). It’s worth going once, a great place to take photographs, and okay for kids. Their trail description on some trails might be a little over-zealous, (it’s not really as difficult as they made it sound. but there are quite a few stairs).

extra hint, don’t forget your digital memory cards, because they don’t sell them in the gift shop. I did, and am kicking myself.

like I said, photographer’s should love this place. it’s really beautiful and the trails get your pretty close to the falls w/ some great overhead shots.

Dogs ARE allowed, we take our pugs here at least once a week during the summer.

This park has a very nice hiking trail, well worth visiting and getting a wee bit of exercise if you’re up for it!
