Several of the buildings there had been destroyed in the earthquake. over 4 years agoPaso Robles has changed so much... by amontAs a little girl, Paso Robles was merely the town we stopped in to buy groceries before spending the week at Lake Nacimiento. Since my childhood, Paso Robles has formed a new identity as a wine haven! There are more than a hundred of wineries that can be visited in the area. My boyfriend and I went to Cambria/Hearst Castle after a trip to San Francisco, and planned to drive back to my home in Southern California afterward. On the road from Cambria to Highway 101, I saw a sign for a little winery. We decided to stop in and have a taste. It was such a nice little stop that we decided to go into the next one we ran into… and the next, and the next… we couldn’t believe how many wineries were on the main highway! We visited about 8 that afternoon. We would ahve visited more but we were having so much fun at one in particular – Hunt Cellars- that we stayed there nearly three hours! You may have heard of the area due to the movie Sideways. Wine tours in the area are becoming increasingly popular! If you find yourself in the area, take some time to visit some of the amazing wineries in Paso Robles. over 5 years agoWe visited on our world tour. by Hate Something, Change Something.I remember it as a nice place that had had some earthquake damage. over 5 years agoSee all 7 entries |
