Old Orchard Shopping Center

One of the days of the Rails Edge conference, they interrupted the presentation to tell us that there was a tornado warning. Maybe that’s why the meeting rooms are in the basement. When the conference was adjourned for the day the tornado warning had passed, but there was still a fantastic thunderstorm going on. A few of us made the unwise decision to go out for dinner, so we ran across the flooded parking lot to the mall, left wet footprints in Nordstrom’s and stopped at a sandwich shop because we didn’t want to ford the river to the Cheesecake Factory.

There were remarks made about the wisdom of building an outdoor mall in a place where it thunderstorms in the summer and it is freezing cold in the winter.
