Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Dangerous Waters

Known as Ushant in English, Ouessant guards the entrance to the bay of Brest. Take the early morning boat from Brest or Le Conquet and rent a bike on arrival for the most relaxed way of visit the place. If you don’t want to stay the night, just take the evening boat back.

On a sunny summer day, the island looks idyllic but a stormy day will remind everybody that, out there, Nature rules. The waters around the island are amongst the most dangerous in the world. Littered with sharp rocks, subject to important tides and severe storms, it has always been known as an area that was difficult to navigate and has claimed many boats. Not only this but the channel off the western coast of the island is one of the busiest maritime routes in the world, the M25 of the merchant navy. This is why the lighthouse on the western coast, the Phare du Créac’h, is one of the most powerful in the world and can be seen up to a distance of 32 nautical miles (60 kilometres).

Why I want to go to this place

I read a very interesting article about the crazy storms here awhile ago.
