DuBois

my husband and i stopped here on our road trip to find some accessories for the car. we stopped at a few stores and no one could help us get what we wanted to… so we chilled out in the parking lot of, i think, the lowes and i plugged in my rice cooker at one of the outdoor outlets of the store… no wait, it was a grocery store… and we cooked lunch. in fact, here is a picture i took of the rice pot doing it’s thing….

I have a love/hate relationship with DuBois, where I spent my high school years. There’s not much to do there, not much to tour – but I miss the forest and greenery, the wildlife, the mountains and rocks (Bilger’s Rocks), and the lakes so much. I’ve seen 4th of July fireworks in Pittsburgh, even in Washington, D.C., but Treasure Lake in DuBois is still the best I’ve ever seen… there’s not a lot of people, so you sit in the grass on the hillside – the fireworks are reflected in the water, and the noise echoes off the mountains.
