Del Rio

Here are some things to see: Whitehead Museum (South Main Street), Lake Amistad (8-10 miles NW of here on 90), Old architecture on some of the residences of Spring Street and downtown, parks and riverwalks along San Felipe Creek. Downtown Del Rio (Main Street) from the tracks South is also worth seeing.

Just don’t try to find a Reformed Baptist church here…

I wish there was an intermediate, or qualifying, choice between “worth visiting” and “not worth visiting”. It all depends on what you are looking for. I have lived in cities a lot bigger than this (New York, Wichita, Albuquerque) so don’t think I didn’t have anything to compare DR with when I gave it thumbs up. When you get older you appreciate some of the more subtle advantages of a place like this: less crime, good nature, proximity to Mexico.
