A tip I have about this place
If you have a chance to walk near Kronborg Castle at Deer Park at dusk, you will probably seen tons of deer. We were there around mating season, so we even got to see a couple of bucks fight over a female. It is a very peaceful setting and gives you a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Queen Sofie is the biz
The Royal Apartments were quite impressive. There were lots of beautiful paintings and tapestries. We were lucky to see a table canopy which had been used by King Frederick II and Queen Sofie. The Swedes invaded in the 1600s, looted and pillaged most of the paintings and tapestries, including the table canopy. They have lent it back to the Danes, to hang in Krongberg Castle, for a month or two. How magnanimous!
Queen Sofie seems to have been a quite a modern women. She married the king when she was just 14 (and he was 38!). After the King’s death she managed her own business and did so well that she started lending money to profligate nobles. She even lent money to the King, her own son, with an interest rate of 6%.

A tip I have about this place
Ask the ladies in the tapestry rooms to tell you a bit about them. They’re much more interesting than you might think. And some are watching you.
