Cuba, NM is a good place to DRIVETHROUGH. Northern New Mexico is beautiful and there are a lot great places to visit, but I would not stay in Cuba too long. I thought there would be a good coffee shop there at least…. but not really. They do have fun “Welcome to Cuba” signs, but then right next to the one going south is a big old billboard on a church stating “Support Our Troops” ….. hmmmmm, I don’t thing Fidel would approve.

Our car broke down outside of town. This was admittedly not the best of circumstances to visit Cuba, but there it is.

Lost in the Desert? Small town suprises... by Amazingkae

Cuba, New Mexico is a wonderful place to stop for a siesta and a decent meal… besides, it is fun to call home and tell them you are horribly lost and the only signs for your location that you see say you have arrived somewhere in Cuba! Talk about a “Lucy” story… it is far more effective if you have come in by plane and are tooling around mapless in a rental car. :-)
