Westwood Village

En route to a UCLA visit, since it’s right there. But it’s not as enjoyable as it was once, though there are a few good restaurants and places to hang out tucked around and about there. My memories are inevitably colored by being at UCLA as an undergrad, admittedly, and then it seemed like the coolest spot around. Typical me.

This place had always been so lively and colorful…

Now it’s almost completely deserted.

I’m guessing the landlords already retired, and haven’t lowered the rental rates. There’s no other explanation why so many businesses here have closed. I kinda feel sorry for UCLA students today.
