Best hip hop store on the North American west coast that I've been to — 2 years ago
Worth visiting!
Everything is previewable. The store is stocked with the latest, greatest, and both—and the greatest from yesteryear as well. Great house/techno sections as well.
Definitely for the dance/soul/hip-hop vinyl aficionado (though they sell CDs, mostly of the mix variety, as well.) The current Canadian/U.S. exchange rate may not make this place the cheapest place to get your records, especially if you’re on the U.S. side, but you’ll always have a heavy pile of stuff you want to listen to, at the very least. I support the store on principle, anyway.
The people who run this place are great. They don’t overcharge above and beyond what they know they could get. Great website as well : http://www.beatstreet.ca
