I visited here two summers ago and loved it! Its so much fun to travel up into rural Jamaica. This also gave me a much deeper appreciation for Bob Marley’s life and music. This is definitly something to see if you’re in the area.

it’s quite a far distance to get there but along the way you’ll see lots of the real jamaica. lots of hills and greenery. i don’t think many people venture up there on their own but it is worth it. nine mile is inpiring cuz it really is where bob marley grew up and you can feel the true spirit of jamaica there. not the touristy nonsense but the real vibe. farms and things are there to see and cows and goats. stop in browns town and see the market where luciano used to sell. allow plenty time to get back to where you are staying. driving at night can be tricky and not for the faint of heart.

Quite a place by onebighead1

Just visited Nine Mile…the folks at Bob’s grave are very nice…Captain Crazy in particular….there was something mistical about the place. Organized and run by Bob’s Mom’s family…many cousins….I made friends with 4 or 5 of them…they even shared several of the oversize skliffs that they are famous for….I would go back….the bus ride up and back is worth the trip…no problem mun
