Dugan's Pub

Margaret and I ended up in here today after we tried to go to Ten Ya but they were closed. They’re more or less right next door.

The place has a really cool feel to it. It’s cozy. The bar is downstairs, and the service is really friendly and great.

We ordered two sandwiches and split them, which was a stroke of genius on Margaret’s part. I had half a crab cake sandwich with lobster aioli. It tasted like the beach. I also had half of a Buffalo chicken sandwich which had lots of wing sauce and melted Swiss cheese on it. Both came with beer-battered fries. Both were delicious.

They’ve also got a lot of great beer on tap – Smithwick’s, which is what Margaret and I sampled, Harp, Guinness, Killian’s, and Bass, plus the obligatory domestic beers that aren’t really worth mentioning.

I really like this place. If it were closer to our school, it would probably be the bar we always hang out in.

They claim to be a little bit of Ireland in the middle of NC. I don’t know about that. But – the food is fantastic, the drinks are reasonably priced upstairs, and the bar downstairs has atmosphere, good bands, ands and great fun. Definitely worth a stop in if you’re in town.
